Alternate Reality

There is a reality that exists parallel to my own where parents pay for acting lessons and hire talent agents and send their children on auditions. In that parallel world, a child is cast in three movies and appears in Cartoon Network shorts. The parents sell their house, pack all their belongings into their mini-van and move to California. All that remains is a yearbook picture to remind the children left behind of their friend. It's surreal but it happens - has happened - in our little community. And it's pretty darn strange.
