And the Beat Goes On

School starts back up for me in a little less than a month. I haven't blogged much about school because it's summer and I shove all thoughts of school into the furthest, dusty corners of my brain. But fall semester looms. It, along with its sibling spring semester, are in my future.

Yep, you read that right. Law school is SO AWESOME that I signed on for another semester of it. By the time I graduate, for those of you keeping track at home, I will have spent six years of my life in law school. Six years of my life that I can never get back.

Yes, law school usually takes three or four years. But I took a lot of time off after I had Bubba. Like two years to just be a mom and hang out with my other mom friends at the playground, the library, and the pool so, when you factor all that in, I'm actually graduating right on time.

Really, going an extra semester doesn't suck so much because I never gave up my summers for class and I never took too many classes to make myself completely crazy. Basically, I had a life and I made law school fit around my life instead of the other way around. And it's only seven classes. Four in fall, three in spring. No big whoop.

I took 7 semesters and one summer school course to get through law school. I had my daughter 2 weeks before I started my 3rd year so I spread that last year out over 3 semesters. I've never regretted that decision. They are only little for a little while and the law will always be there.
