Election Aftermath

I am disappointed Obama won but I am not surprised. McCain made several missteps during his campaign and I think the Palin pick hurt him a lot. I am worried about our country being led by a man with no military experience; McCain had it in spades and it's the reason I voted for him. But, what's done is done. The election is over. Better luck in 2012.

The biggest disappointment is that I now live in a blue state. It's bad enough battling folks in the Republic of Boulder on a daily basis, but now the whole damn state is overrun with liberals or, more likely, conservatives who moved away from Bush and inevitable towards center and left. Whether the blue label sticks will depend a lot upon what the Democrats do over the next four years. I am especially interested in how drilling in the Roan Plateau could change and the economic effects that could have on our state.

But really, it´s too early to make predictions. I´m not even going to play that game. For now, I will simply change the channel when the media starts to gush over Obama (as it did during his whole campaign) and I will pray to my pagan gods for the safety of the Obama family and for the safety of this country as it awaits Obama's "test".

Amen! I see the great things he wants to do and I wonder how he'll pay for it. We could all do BIG WONDERFUL things... if only we had the money.
